WHAT IS A PASSION? According to William Stillman, author of Autism and the God connection, it is the topic or subject area in which your child with autism is absolutely and enjoyably absorbed is his passion. Given her druthers, she would spend all her free time reading about, drawing, talking about, watching on television, researching on the Internet, or reenacting this topic. You may also hear passions referred to as "special interests". Some examples of areas of passion for any number of kids with autism include, but are not limited to, the following:
*computer games
*dinosaurs
*cartoon characters
*specific films
*music / musical interests
*toys / specific toys (e.g. with sounds, lights, texture, etc.)
*famous persons / significant persons
